This FREE stage combat workshop is part of the Partners in the Arts Initiative at Furman University. This unarmed workshop is geared toward actors, teachers, and directors who want to get more experience with fight choreography as storytelling.

Guest Artist Profile: Cliff Williams III is a fight choreographer, director, and actor that works out of the Washington, DC area. He has choreographed all along the East Coast for the last fifteen years. A graduate of the University of Alabama, Cliff has worked for several Regional Theatres, as well as Off-Broadway and film. Some of his favorite fight choreography credits include: Actors Theatre of Louisville (Dracula, Gem of the Ocean, and 4 of the 6 2006 Humana Festival Shows), Arena Stage (Gem of the Ocean, The Shoplifters, Long Day’s Journey Into Night, and A Delicate Balance), Centerstage (As You Like It), Placido Domingo’s Washington National Opera (Porgy and Bess, Ballo in Maschera, Lucia del Lammermoor, Tosca, and Salome), Studio Theatre (Chimerica). Cliff worked on the original productions of Dead Man’s Cell Phone (Woolly Mammoth Theatre) and The Scene (Actors Theatre of Louisville), both of which went on to Off-Broadway runs. He also worked extensively on the Hilton Edwards Award Nominee for physical direction, Loaded, that premiered at the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival. See more at www.CliffWilliamsIII.net.
