The Anderson Theatre Festival announces its fourth year lineup, featuring a summer full of exciting performances. The festival includes twelve shows in fifteen weeks, May 4th – August 19th. The eight organizations have combined forces to offer a unique blend of theatre from Shakespeare, to The Jungle Book!
The Anderson Theatre Festival began in 2015, when seven community theatre directors met to acknowledge the ample amount of productions that were taking place in Anderson, SC at once. In effort to cross-promote productions, the Anderson Theatre Festival was born, a mini Spoleto, if you will. The collaboration led to the tag line, “Embrace the Drama”.
The Theatre Festival was recognized in 2017 by the South Carolina Theatre Association, and continues to attract a broad spotlight to Anderson as a bustling theatre community.
The Anderson Theatre Festival will feature its annual “Passport” competition for audience members to track their attendance. Passports can be stamped at each production, and those who attend six of the twelve productions will be entered to win six flex tickets to each participating theatre. Flex tickets can be used at any upcoming productions for the remainder of each theatre’s season – a total of 42 tickets! The passport can be found online, or at each participating theatre.
