Mary Poppins — The Disney classic tops the list by the sheer numbers alone and expected sell-out crowds. Four productions await the Upstate: Spartanburg Little Theatre and Abbeville Opera House/Greenwood Community Theatre both open Sept. 11 with the Greer Children’s Theatre following in November. Greenville Little Theatre closes out its 90th season with Mary Poppins for almost the entire month of June.

Little Women: The Musical — Greenville Little Theatre
This new musical is based on Louisa May Alcott’s novel that we all know and love.
Carrie: The Musical — Clemson Little Theatre
That sweet girl that avenges her bullies with telekinetic powers can sing too!

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike — This Tony-winning play begins in November in an Attic Salt Theatre Company production in Asheville and again in March at The Warehouse Theatre, which precedes it with the inspiration for this comedy, Checkhov’s “Uncle Vanya.”
Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds — Abbeville Opera House
Just in time for Halloween, Hitchcock’s classic is guaranteed to thrill and chill. I hear lots of scary sound effects already.
A Visit from Scarface — Greenville Little Theatre
This gangster comedy is from the writers of “Don’t Cry for Me Margaret Mitchell.”

A World Premiere comedy about marriage, responsibility and Ukrainian escorts.

This adaptation brings the suspense and seduction of Bram Stoker’s classic novel to the stage just in time for Halloween..
Fly — Flat Rock Playhouse
An inspiring story about the Tuskegee Airmen in September.
Kindertransport — Centre Stage
This work by Diane Samuels examines children of the Holocaust.
Julius Caesar & As You Like It — Upstate Shakespeare Festival Summer 2016
Directed by John Fagan and presented at River Falls Park.
The Dixie Swim Club — Spartanburg Little Theatre
Call it “Steel Magnolias at the Beach” by the NC writing team of Jones, Hope & Wooten, whose “The Red Velvet Cake War” will also be at the Little Theater of Gastonia in February.
The Miracle Worker/The Odd Couple— Celebrating 55 & 50 years respectively, the Helen Keller story is on the SC Children’s Theatre bill in March and in Abbeville in April. The Odd Couple just closed the Abbeville summer season and will open Centre Stage’s season in September.
