D.C. Police Investigating Two H Street Burglaries Caught on Camera

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) in Washington, D.C., is investigating two burglaries that occurred on H Street in Northeast D.C. The incidents, which happened at separate businesses just over a month apart, were both captured on surveillance cameras.

High-End Clothing Store Robbed

The first burglary took place on Saturday, September 10, at A Ma Maniére, a luxury men’s apparel and footwear store located in the 1200 block of H Street. MPD officers responded shortly after midnight, discovering that suspects had forcibly entered the store and stolen numerous pieces of high-end clothing.

Eyewitness Rob Lynn described the chaotic scene, stating, “They were coming out, running up and down the street. Then cars pulled up and picked a bunch of them up before taking off.” On November 15, police released surveillance footage of the suspects, urging the public to come forward with any information.

Vape Shop Targeted

The second burglary occurred on Sunday, October 13, at a vape shop in the 1300 block of H Street. Police responded to the scene just before 6 a.m. and found that three suspects had broken into the closed business, stealing various vape products before fleeing.

Footage from this incident was also released on November 15, prompting questions about the delay in sharing evidence with the public. “I’m surprised it took them that long to release the footage,” commented Lynn.

Police Seeking Community Assistance

As of now, authorities have not determined if the two burglaries are connected. MPD is calling on residents to assist in the investigation by reporting any tips or information regarding these crimes. Citizens can contact the department at 202-727-9099 or submit anonymous tips by texting 50411.
