Hit-and-Run Crash on Gulf Freeway Claims Man’s Life, Injures Woman

A speeding truck caused a fatal crash on the Gulf Freeway near Bellfort Thursday night, leaving one driver dead and another seriously injured before fleeing the scene.

Crash Details

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when witnesses saw a black truck speeding northbound at over 100 mph, weaving dangerously between lanes.

According to police, the speeding truck first hit a Mustang before crashing into a Jeep, causing the Jeep to flip onto its roof.

Victims Involved

Tragically, the man driving the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

A woman passenger in the Jeep was rushed to the hospital. Her condition remains unknown at this time.

Fortunately, the people in the Mustang were not injured.

Driver Fled the Scene

After causing the crash, the driver of the black truck sped away, continuing northbound on the Gulf Freeway.
