Man Arrested After Allegedly Attempting to Murder Ex-Girlfriend in McKeesport

MCKEESPORT, PA — Deondrae Huff, a 19-year-old man from Duquesne, was arrested Tuesday evening after being wanted for attempting to kill his ex-girlfriend. Huff had been on the run since November 20, when he skipped a court appearance in Beaver County for sentencing related to the charges.

Huff was charged with attempted homicide after firing multiple shots at a car containing his ex-girlfriend. Thankfully, the woman was not injured in the incident. Following the shooting, she filed for a protection-from-abuse order, prompting a manhunt for Huff, who was known to frequently travel between the Mon Valley area and Beaver County.

The search led authorities to a home on Lee Street in McKeesport. When Allegheny County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the house on Tuesday night, they noticed movement inside. After announcing their presence, deputies saw Huff attempting to flee through a back door. He was quickly apprehended and taken into custody without further resistance.

Huff is now being held at the Allegheny County Jail, facing charges of attempted homicide. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and they are continuing to work to ensure the safety of the victim and the community.
