In a disturbing incident at a Houston laundromat, three Texas residents were arrested after allegedly locking a 6-year-old child in a clothes dryer as punishment. The incident unfolded at Hi Tek Washateria on November 11, where deputies responded to reports of a child locked inside the dryer. The child was found visibly distressed and crying.
Incident Details and Arrests
The child was in the care of 20-year-old Jaqory Gill, 19-year-old Life Ford, and 18-year-old Haven Duncan when the event occurred. After the child became upset over losing a bag of chips, Duncan reportedly placed the child inside the dryer, with Ford shutting the door and Gill starting the machine. Authorities arrived after bystanders alerted police and emergency services. The child was removed from the dryer after about a minute and placed in a laundry cart.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Gill, Ford, and Duncan were arrested and booked into Harris County Jail. Duncan faces charges of child endangerment, with a bond set at $10,000. Ford is charged with interfering with a public servant, while Gill is charged with evading police on foot. Bonds for Ford and Gill were set at $100 each. The child’s mother, not present during the incident, has not been charged.
